The success achieved by the Varsity teams was a culmination of countless hours of hard work and preparation by all of the players, their coaches and their supportive families. Some of our alumni have gone on to play in college and professionally achieving a multitude of honors and achievements among them. All of them learned the importance of hard work, respect and teamwork, lessons that carry well beyond the lacrosse field. The long road to success and the journey for many of these Varsity players began with their exposure to the sport through our youth program.

DECEMBER 2017 SWR Wildcat Boys Lacrosse “Off season” Programs SWR Wildcat Boys Lacrosse “Off season” Programs for ages k – 12
Wildcat Nation! After much planning I am very excited to announce our plan for “off season” lacrosse training. As we all know it is imperative that we as a program play lacrosse, and train as a group to maintain the level of success our program is renown for. I believe I have been able to create a plan to fulfill the needs of the program while taking in into consideration everyone’s very busy schedules.
I have broken the Wildcat “off season” program into three seasons, fall, winter, and summer. This will allow a player to have flexibility to participate when available. I believe it is best for the program if players can commit to all the trainings, however I want to be able to give an athlete the opportunity to participate if they have conflicts. I also thought that this would make the financial commitment less of a burden on families. Leagues, facility rentals, and training can be costly. I am making every effort to keep the expense as low as possible. My intention is to make it so every Shoreham-Wading River player has the opportunity to participate if they choose. If there is any player that needs any consideration due to financial restraints, please contact me directly. I never want any of our athletes excluded due to financial constraints. We will offer training for every level of player ages k-12. We will have a middle school, junior varsity, and a varsity team. It is my intent to get these teams familiar to our terminology, philosophies, practices, and staff to enable a seamless transition from one level to the next. It also allows the varsity staff the ability to properly evaluate each athlete and assess if each athlete’s needs are being met properly at each level. Each teams focus will not only be based upon what is best for the SWR program, but what is also the best interest of the athlete.
