Wildcat Supporters,
On Saturday September 29, 2018, the Boys and Girls varsity soccer teams will be hosting a fundraiser for the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This organization was chosen because of the support they continue to demonstrate to the families of our fallen heroes. This past year the Tunnel to Towers Foundation paid off the mortgages of two servicemen from the Air National Guard 106th Rescue Wing in Westhampton who lost their lives defending our freedom: Tech. Sgt. Dashan Briggs of Port Jefferson Station and FDNY Lt. Christopher Raguso of Commack. Because of the Foundation, the wives and children of these heroes will have one less thing to worry about. They can continue to live in their homes without having the burden of paying a mortgage. Our community is rich in first responders and military. Unfortunately, this can happen to anyone of us. This hit a little too close for me. My family is connected to one of the recipients of the foundation. Please help us honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice by supporting our fundraiser. We will be accepting donations at the game and also online via the link provided. I hope to fill the stands and raise as much money for a great organization that continues to step up to the plate. The question to ask is: How long will it be before the next first responder or military service person loses their life defending or protecting us? There is no question in my mind that when that day comes, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation will be there. Best Regards, Wesley Pase SWR Varsity Soccer Team Senior Captain https://www.crowdrise.com/o/en/campaign/shorehamwrhs My family runs a golf outing every other year in honor of my brother Tom who passed away in 1986. Since 1986 we have been giving a scholarship in his honor at Calhoun HS in Merrick where we grew up. We have been giving a $3,000 scholarship annually. A few years ago we decided to expand the scholarship to include an outstanding student athlete at SWR HS. Each year we give $1,000. The past winners have been Bobby Puckey (Ithaca College Football), Chris Rosati (Salve Regina Football) & Chris Sheehan (Salve Regina Lacrosse). To date we have given over $90,000 in scholarships and $80,000 to the Calhoun Sports Boosters for improvements to Calhoun athletic facilities. Thank you for time and consideration. I have attached a flyer with the information. If anyone has any questions, please give me a call 631-942-7318.
Regards, Chris Fehmel

I am also an Eagle Scout Candidate in Boy Scout Troop 161 in Shoreham NY. I am in the planning stages of my Eagle Scout project and decided to construct a memorial to honor the memory of Tom Cutinella. Tom, who you all know, on October 1, 2014 suffered a traumatic head injury from which he could not recover. A family, school and community as a whole, were all affected. It was a day that I will never forget. Aside from Tom’s passing, something that really affected me personally, was how the community mourned for Tom and his family. People that did not know Tom or his family came out to support them. This is one of the main reasons I chose to construct a memorial in Tom’s honor. The next major decision was where to build the memorial. I then heard that the Shoreham-‐Wading River School District is going to dedicate their football eld (which is currently under renovation) to Tom. That’s when I decided that the best place to put this memorial is the place that Tom loved to be – in the new stadium. My next hurdle for this project is to fund it. I decided that the best way to do this is to sell memorial bricks so that people who knew and loved Tom could have a small inscription placed on the brick, which would then be place in the memorial. I can’t think of a better way for people to publicly show their love and support for Tom and his family and at the same time, fund this project. You may buy a brick here: https://www.bricksrus.com/order/bsatroop161/ Please take a moment and review what we have to offer. If you decide that an engraved brick is not a way that you want to contribute, please feel free to access Tom’s Memorial Construction “Go Fund Me” site at: www.gofundme.com/TomCmemorial No donation is too small. Thank you in advance for your time and donation. ![]()
