You're invited to informative meeting and presentation regarding the college recruiting process.11/6/2014 Dear Parents, The SWR Youth Lacrosse League/Organization cordially invites all parents & players to attend a night with former NCAA Division 1 Men's Head Lacrosse coach Andy Towers next Thursday November 13th at 7:00PM in the Auditorium of Prodell Middle School for a informative meeting and presentation regarding the college recruiting process. The meeting is geared towards students (boys/girls) grades 6 and higher interested in playing lacrosse at the collegiate level. Coach Towers will provide an overview of the college recruiting process, provide insight into whats important -academics, skills, etc and answer any questions you may have. For those of you who do not know Coach Towers, here is his bio: Andy Towers was the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Dartmouth College from 2009-2014 as well as founder of Lacrosse Draws, LLC. Prior to being at Dartmouth College, Towers also served as the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at the University of Hartford and held assistant coaching duties at Brown, Yale, and Fairfield University. In 1994, he helped lead his alma mater, Brown University, to the Ivy League Championship and the program’s first and only appearance in the NCAA Final Four. As a player, Towers has succeeded on every level. After HS, he made the 1988 19 & Under USA Team. While in college at Brown, he led the Bruins to Ivy and New England titles, was named a Division 1 All-American 3 times (2-time 1st-Team as a midfielder and once Honorable Mention as an attackman), All-Ivy 3 times (2 time 1st-Team and once 2nd), All-New England 3 times (3 time 1st-Team), and the Ivy League’s Player of the Year once. He is the current record holder at Brown for goals in a season (59) and in a career (150). After college, Towers continued his playing career in the professional indoor (National Lacrosse League - Philadelphia Wings, Boston Blazers, NY Saints) and outdoor (Major League Lacrosse - Boston Cannons, Bridgeport Barrage) leagues, earning All-Star Honors in Major League Lacrosse while leading the league in face-off winning percentage at 58%. He currently lives in CT and will be launching ‘Fast Trac Recruiting Service’ with Matt Schomburg in January, 2015. We hope you can make it and please spread the word. Sincerely.
